Hi, my name is Aimee Reeves and this is my 5th year teaching the 5th grade at James W. Smith Elementary. I first started in the 5th grade teaching ELA and Science and loved every minute of it. I later decided to give math a try and I have loved every minute of it.
I graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, Virginia with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. During my college career I was a cheerleader and volunteered my time with the Marlin’s Read program. This was a mentor program that allowed k-2 students at a local elementary school to have a buddy reader (that was me) for 30 minutes of their day!
I have been married to my best friend, David, for the past two years and we are so excited for our journey through life together.
In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, fishing with my husband, playing volleyball, and spending time with my family! Photography, is also a passion of mine. I love capturing all of life’s precious memories. I have family in many different states because they are military so traveling is also a big adventure for me.
I am so excited to start another school year and meet another group of wonderful students!
You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the guy who'll decide where to go! ~Dr. Seuss
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. ~Benjamin Franklin
